Dalam acara yang dihadiri ratusan bobotoh ini, Umuh menegaskan pertemuan tersebut dilakukan untuk mengingatkan kepada kalangan bobotoh agar pada pelaksanaan pembukaan turnamen Piala Presiden 2019 yang ditayangkan Indosiar di Stadion Si Jalak Harupat, Soreang, Kabupaten Bandung, Sabtu (2/3/2019), tidak ada yel berbau rasis apalagi mengarah kepada hal politik.
"Kepada semua bobotoh yang hadir nanti (di Stadion Si Jalak Harupat), mohon dengan hormat, sayangilah Persib. Persib ini punya reputasi baik, jangan sampai di rusak dan jangan sampai ada rasisme," ujar Umuh.
Umuh meminta pada laga pembuka nanti, yang mempertemukan Persib kontra Tira Persikabo, bobotoh menyuarakan suara-suara dan nyanyian yang positif. Terlebih Presiden RI Joko Widodo direncanakan hadir di Si Jalak Harupat.
"Jadi pada pembukaan di Piala Presiden nanti harus nyaman. Mudah-mudahan bisa terulang lagi Persib juara Piala Presiden," imbuh Umuh.
Tommy Apriantono menambahkan pihaknya selaku Asprov ingin membantu Persib menjadi tuan rumah yang baik di turnamen Piala Presiden 2019.
"Mudah-mudahan suasana politik tidak masuk ke sepak bola, seperti contoh kemarin (laga leg pertama babak 16 besar) merupakan contoh yang tidak baik. Mudah-mudahan pada pertandingan nanti hanya murni nonton sepak bola saja," tambah Tommy.
